Following on from the previous post about Multi-Level Marketing companies, let's now talk about all these scam weight loss pills.
Remember garcinia cambogia earlier this year? It doesn't work.
Remember green coffee bean before that? It doesn't work.
Remember raspberry ketones before that? It doesn't work.
Now you might disagree with me and believe 'magic product X' works. It's a super special berry found deep in the Amazonian jungle and you saw it on the internet so it must be true!
In the USA you can pretty much claim your product can do anything except cure cancer. Remember when Acai Berry was popular a few years ago? I actually compiled some of the claims these acai berry scam sites were making back in 2010. You ready for these?
->Lose 5kg of body fat per week without having to diet/exercise.
->Acai “neutralises all the calories from the food you eat”.
->Add to your penis “2 inches in length and 1 inch in girth in a matter of weeks”
Guess what? People actually believed these claims!
These products continue to exist due to 1 key reason: Internet scams. I'm sure you've all seen those free trial ads? Picture is an example. FREE TRIAL! Just enter your credit details and we'll send you your very own FREE TRIAL!
Now read this actual disclaimer I found on a site offering a free garcinia cambogia trial:
"By placing your trial order today you will be shipped a 30 day supply of Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim and pay only S&H. Try it to experience the benefits and if for any reason our product is not for you, call our Customer Care team within your trial period to cancel... If you are satisfied, do nothing and you agree to be charged USD/GBP 89.84. Plus you agree to be enrolled in our Auto-Ship Membership Program and 30 days from the end of your trial date and every 30 days thereafter, you will be shipped a fresh supply of Garcinia Cambogia Max Slim for USD/GBP 89.84, plus shipping and handling."
That's right. If you don't cancel your free trial by calling their USA contact number (and good luck getting somebody on the other end) you will automatically pay $90USD plus shipping and handling per month for fresh new stock. These companies are hoping that you try their pills, fail to read the terms and conditions then get hit with the "Auto-Ship Membership Program".
So next time you see some miracle product on the internet, save your money for something else, especially if it's endorsed by Dr Oz.
