I'm sure most people have heard the myth that weight training makes females "bulky". There's also the myth that strength training (whether for powerlifting, strongman or just "heavy" weight training) makes you fat. Both are wrong. I'd like to show you a comparison between myself andIron Underground coach/lifer, One Rep Nat Strength & Conditioning:
Age: 23 yrs
Competition experience: 1+ years
Most recent competition lifts: 122.5kg squat, 80kg bench press, 122.5kg deadlift, 325kg total.
Age: 28 yrs
Competition experience: 1+ year
Most recent competition lifts: 290kg squat, 162.5kg bench press, 331kg deadlift, 783.5kg total.
Natalie and I are both elite level competitive powerlifters but we look very different. Natalie has that "toned" look so many females are chasing. How did she achieve this look? Through heavy weight training and an appropriate diet that ensured she didn't gain body fat.
If anybody says powerlifting makes females fat, they're wrong.
If anybody says weight training makes females bulky, they're wrong.
If anybody says females should only lift light weights, they're wrong.
If anybody says you need cardio to lose fat, they're wrong.
Seriously, stop listening to ignorant & uneducated people who don't lift and have no idea what they're talking about.
